In 2003 I went to school in Cairo, Egypt, and one thing that struck me was that they had their professors in their own language. They did mathematics in their language, medicine in their language, everything in their language.

But in Zimbabwe, our people look down upon their languages. They are making jokes about doing mathematics in Shona or Ndebele. They get angry if their child fails English but never mind if their children fail Shona, Ndebele or Tonga. What a people? Fetid!
